On Saturday, Mimi and Papa came over in the morning while we got ready for the zoo. The pictures below show you how Paul spent that time... playing basketball, of course!
Papa and Paul have matching jackets!
It's a little hard to see, but Michael and Paul are peeking up into the bubble on the right, trying to get a good view of the prairie dogs.
Waving at the ducks, of course.
Paul petting the sheep. This took a lot of encouragement from Dad!
Three generations of Richardson men!
Checking out the polar bear.
We really enjoyed watching the sea lion show, now that Paul's attention span is long enough to sit still for it.
The highlight of the day was Mimi and Papa treating us to a giraffe feeding! Paul was very excited to give the giraffe the first piece of lettuce, but it freaked him out a little and Michael and I got to do the rest. We didn't mind!
I love this picture of Paul and Mimi!
After the zoo, we got a great lunch of hamburgers and fries at Huey's. It's one of our favorites and we were happy to enjoy it with family! That afternoon we went downtown for a walk. We strolled down Main Street and Beale and even caught a mini parade of kids dribbling basketballs with a drumline on the way to the FedEx Forum. Paul loved it!
It's hard to see, but this was part of the parade.
A better shot.
Horse-drawn carriages lined up outside the Peabody.
Beale Street
That night we were all exhausted! We enjoyed eating at Soulfish, another one of our favorites! They had to leave before lunch on Sunday, and we were all sad to see them go, but so glad they were able to spend the weekend with us!
