4th of July

Since the 4th of July was a Thursday this year, and Michael had to be in class the days before and after, we stuck around Memphis.  We invited our friends Krystal, Michael and Brock over for hot dogs.  Paul and Brock had so much fun playing in our little pool!  It was almost relaxing since they kept each other occupied so well.  It was also Brock's first birthday!

Our upstairs neighbors have some potted flowers in the backyard and Paul loves to pour water on them... and then grab handfuls of the soil.

I don't think Brock likes the sun very much! I hope it's that and not the photographer

I'm really grateful that these two get along so well!

After they left, we cleaned up and put Paul to bed.  No fireworks for this family yet!  Unfortunately, our neighbors had other ideas and we spent the evening feeling like we were on the set of a war movie.  We could watch from our sun room!  Paul actually slept pretty well through them and our cats were only a little terrified.
