Zoo with Grammy and Paul's First Love

We knew we had to go to the zoo while Grammy was here, so Sunday afternoon we packed our snacks and took the short drive to the Memphis Zoo.  It was a beautiful day for the zoo!

Grammy treated us all to a train ride!  It was Paul's first and he has been loving trains lately so he was very excited.  He mostly loves tickets, though.  This picture reminds me of one from my first blog post.

Grammy also treated Paul to his first carousel ride!  Of course he choose the giraffe as his noble steed!  He looks unsure in these pictures, but he absolutely loved it!

I told Paul to stand in front of the flowers for a picture and he did this pose!  I have no idea where it came from, but we all thought it was pretty cute!

That night we went to a Mexican restaurant called Frida's for dinner.  There was a very cute little girl in the booth behind us who kept playing and dancing in the area nearby.  Paul was smitten with her!  He would peek over the booth and say, "I see you!" or "'Are you?" (short for "Where are you?") if he couldn't see her.  He also danced and smiled so big whenever she looked at him.  As soon as she turned away, he lost that smile and covered his eyes with his hands, saying, "Oh no, no," so sadly.  It was adorable.  He has never done anything like this ever!  He is very outgoing when he is in familiar places or around his friends, but in public he is usually very shy.  This new side of his personality caught us by surprise!  When we got up to leave we suggested that he go to tell her goodbye.  He walked over to her booth (filled with 4-6 strangers, mostly men) and waved bye-bye.  She got down from her seat and blew Paul kisses.  It was so very sweet!
